Who I am

Born in Bologna on 12/06/1974 and resident there, I graduated from the “Luigi Galvani” High School in Bologna in 1993.

I graduated in Medicine and Surgery on 10/25/1999 at the University of Bologna, reporting a grade of 110/110 cum laude, discussing a thesis entitled: “Ceramics in hip arthroplasty.”

I entered the School of Specialization in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the University of Bologna, taking 1st place in the competition for the academic year 1999/2000.

I obtained mylicense to practice as a medical surgeon in the first session of the year 2000 at the University of Bologna with highest honors.

I attended, under a contract as “acting intern (FFI),” from Nov. 1, 2003 to May 1, 2004, the Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery Service headed by Prof. J.N. Argenson at the “Sainte Marguerite” Hospital in Marseille, France, performing trauma surgeries as a first responder and covering on-call services as the hospital’s orthopedic surgeon. During the same period, I attended the University of Aix-Marseille, earning a “Certificate of Special In-depth Training” in Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis Surgery.

I completed my residency in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the University of Bologna on 4/11/2004, obtaining 70/70 cum laude and discussing a thesis entitled: “Comparison study between anatomical stems proximally or completely coated with hydroxyapatite.”

I worked as an Orthopedic Executive with a freelance contract at the 1st Division of the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institutes from November 29, 2004 to May 28, 2005.

Since June 3, 2005, I have been working as an Orthopedic Executive Officer at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institutes with a permanent contract, first at the “1st Division” and then at the “Hip and Knee Prosthesis Surgery”, where I initially held the professional position of “Arthroscopic Surgery” and later the professional position of “Knee Reconstructive Surgery.”

Since 2020, I have held the position of Ward Coordinator with the designation of“Innovative Prosthesis Surgery.”

In April 2025 I completed a 1-year master’s degree entitled the Surgical Leadership Program at the Harvard Medical School in Boston.

I am a member of the editorial board of the Hip International scientific journal and the European Hip Society.
